Happy 1 1/2 Birthday Sophia Grace!

My baby girl is 1 1/2 years old today and we are celebrating for more than one reason!! To commemorate this big day, she decided that she would learn how to sit up (from a laying down position) independently!!  She was so proud when she performed this feat all by herself a few days ago!  This is HUGE progress in Sophia's development.  It is something we have been working on for a long time and a milestone we've been praying for! She first did this while avoiding sleep at bedtime...imagine that!  We are so very proud of her!

Some of these pictures are repeats from Facebook, but I know not everyone is on FB so I wanted to share both places.  This is one of my favorite pictures of her... innocence captured!  She was very sleepy after eating one night and just put her head down on her tray.  So sweet :)

My cute Belles... love her!!  She is growing up way faster than I'd like her to.  She is excited to begin preschool next year... she was accepted at the Jordan Creek Elementary preschool program as a peer and will start after Labor Day.  She is also looking forward to beginning gymnastics soon.  She will start the summer session next week!

Posing for Grandma :)

My little trouble maker... she's discovered toilet paper!

Isabelle with her new baby cousin Corbyn. We were able to visit Aunt Kristi, Uncle Clark, Collin and the new baby before he was even two weeks old!  He's absolutely precious! (He is cozied up in the girls' old swing...glad it went to such a sweet lil' guy!)

Isabelle feeding the ducks and geese at JCTC-- Sophia thought it was pretty cool too!

Isabelle recently got a new "big girl" bike and has been riding it everyday! She loves going on walks now because she can ride her bike.  She usually takes up the lead!  She's getting pretty brave and very fast on it!  So proud of her!

We spent a morning with Grandma and Grandpa (and Aunt Melissa and Herbie too!) at a few parks in Indianola.  First, we did a storybook walk in Buxton Park.  Then we went to Moat's to play!  The girls loved these swings and Isabelle was so sweet to spend some time swinging with her sister too.

Sophia was recently cast for her second pair of SMO braces as she has outgrown her first pair.  Here she is pictured at Blank with the casts on.  Overall, she sat patiently, intrigued by all that was going on.  However, she was not a fan when the saw came out to cut the casts.  My brave little girl got over it pretty quickly though :)  Isabelle helped picked out the patterns and colors for her braces again and we should be getting them in a week or so!

I love this!  This is what Sophie does now when you ask her to smile for a picture :)  She is also getting ready to scoot back into her little corner by the toy basket in the living room.  Isabelle calls it her cave!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we took a day trip to the Omaha Zoo.  The girls loved it!  They especially liked the aquarium.

Miss Sassafrass enjoying a beautiful day :)  She loves this chair!

Thanks for stopping by to see what we've been up to!  We have a busy summer planned so I will get more pictures posted soon.
